The Scheme offers the opportunity for Local Residents to
hire (rent) quality original Art Work from local Yorkshire Artists for a fixed
fee, currently set at £20.00 for a period of 6 months.
At the end of the 6-month period the renter has the
option of returning the Art work, or to convert the rental into a purchase by
paying the full published price (less the accrued rental) thus converting the
rental into a full purchase.
The selected picture will remain on exhibit until the
completion of the Exhibition (usually 4.00 pm Sunday) but will be nominated
with a 'red spot' showing that the art work has been 'reserved' . The hirer
will collect their reserved work on completion of the exhibition. During the
following 6 months or so, the hirer will enjoy the Art work until contacted
by the Exhibition secretary to agree a sale or return.
This enables the Purchaser to acquire the Picture on
approval to see how it works 'on the wall' before a full commitment to
the purchase price.
