CERAMICS
My first lesson in pottery was given to me by my sister-in-law on a visit to her
home in North Carolina, U.S.A. On returning to England I decided to join the
local evening class in Wetherby and continued there for a couple of years.
Following this, I enrolled at Harrogate College on a day course and gained some
qualifications. Having gone through most processes I decided that Naked Raku and
Raku, was the route I should take along with Horsehair Raku and Smoke Firing. My
inspiration for Naked Raku being provided mainly by the work of David Roberts. I
hand build my pots by either coiling or slab building.
