John started drawing whilst living in Cheshire, initially in pen & ink, producing pictures and cards of local scenery.  On moving to Yorkshire he widened his interests, firstly to oil painting but then discovered his preferred media was watercolour, where he now specialises in painting flowers and landscapes.  

He has exhibited in galleries in the Yorkshire area.   He has undertaken numerous commissions for house & garden portraits.  Other activities include metal scultpures and, more recently, woodcraft.
