John Larbalestier
Has always had an interest in art and has constantly drawn and sketched, especially people, animals, and townscapes.
Having lived and worked as an agricultural advisor in Pembrokeshire, the Channel Islands, Nottinghamshire and, finally, in Yorkshire, there has always been a great variety of subject matter to sustain this interest.
Has exhibited at the annual Art Festival in Ripon Cathedral, and with the Wetherby Art Loan Scheme, but also does commissioned work. Main medium is pen and wash, working outdoors directly from the subject. Has also drawn cartoon illustrations for 2 editions of the National Garden Scheme ‘Yellow Book’ (2004 and 2005).
